Reuse your old LEGO^® bricks to find and build new creations

In these opening I usually make some terrible pun or riff of a quote from the sets subject matters. Today though I'm not gonna do that. Today bad Dad jokes and puns are avoided in my intro. However regarding the rest of my review, it is inevitable.

Farming equipment is not new to Technic. One of the very first Technic sets, even before the theme got its official name, is 851-1 Tractor. In the following year, some more tractors were released, and the 8862-1 Backhoe Grader from 1989 had a harvester for a b-model. It would take until 2006 for the next farm set: 8281-1 Mini Tractor, and more followed. In 2022, we got the first John Deere set, with 42136-1 John Deere 9620R 4WD Tractor, with 42157-1 John Deere 948L-II Skidder appearing the next year. And now we have the 3rd set in the series: 42168-1 John Deere 9700 Forage Harvester, a harvester in a similar scale to the 42136-1. Let's start building.

Birds! If you read my White Rabbit review, you are probably aware I am a fan of our feathered friends, especially Australian variants; so I was pretty excited to get my hands on this set. I had a pet budgie growing up (parakeet for you Americans 😉) who was blue, so a blue Aussie bird LEGO set aimed at adults? Yes please! Lets see if it lives up to my high expectations.

I've already reviewed 3 MOCs from the medieval era, but I'm not ready to travel back to our age just yet, as a new Partial Alternate MOC caught my eye. It's been 3 years since the release of 21325-1 Medieval Blacksmith, and there are numerous Alternate MOCs listed for this beauty on Rebrickable. Some use parts from just this set, while others throw in additional sets, often 31120-1 Medieval Castle. MOC-173041 Medieval Sawmill however is the first to use 2 copies of the LEGO Ideas set. I found the Medieval Blacksmith to be a great build, so I'm curious to find out if doubling the parts will double the fun.
